“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry our their dream.”
― Les Brown
If you've got an idea on wanting to start something, or it might be a plan you have had for a while, or it could be a dream, but you never got round to starting.
Start. Start today, today is the perfect time to stop thinking about it and do it. It does not matter how big or small the goal is to start with, the thought process behind leaving the fear or the laziness of starting something behind and proactively getting up and starting it is the most important factor in the initial stage.
When is Ready? The reasons for postponing these ideas and plans can vary, but feeling unprepared or feeling unready is a most common factor. There is never a perfect time to begin something, or where you will ever feel prepared enough to start something great. The only thing you can be sure of is if/when you fail at some point no matter how big or small, you are ready and prepared to get back up and go again and again until you succeed.
For me, starting this blog and starting my youtube channel had been ideas for a long time, postponed for various reasons. Probably more excuses to avoid failure or what others would think looking back. However, I started.
It is always nerve wracking to see how people react, but usually that fear becomes something you don't worry so much about after the first time you upload or post, and although it is small at the moment, by constantly put one foot in front of the other you can achieve victories day by day. My next goal is to upload a new drum video and blog every 2 weeks and in the long term reach 200,000 views, which will mean sometimes the work is not always perfect, and a mid progress, but perfection is only what you perceive it as.
I believe everyone has that one idea but never brought it to light or have fears for doing so. So start as soon as physically possible and believe in yourself to succeed in whatever it is every step of the way.
So Start your band, start your blog, go and get the art studio you have always wanted, sacrifice time to hone your craft, get your masters, learn a new skill. Whatever it is, it can happen today.
Most Importantly. Once Started, Keep Going.
Always be the hardest worker in the room!
